Week 1: Urban spidermen
My first post in my 52 weeks project. My office is located in one of the most lively areas in Downtown Abu Dhabi and perfect stage for a street photography 52 weeks project.
Building windows cleaners... probably the last job I would like to do specially in the Middle East with all that dust floating around

Week 2: Solitude in unsuspected places
Not sure what made me take this picture. I don't think is remarkable at all but I just remember how surprised I was to see this impromptu Mosque inside the underground parking lot. Note, this one was not taken in Abu Dhabi, it was in Al Ain as I had to be there for work. Note to self: carry a better camera at all times... cellphone does not do a good job under this kind of scnearions.

Week 3: Balam
I had the chance to go back to Mexico to visit my family and friends and also to attend a very special weeding. On the way back I had to wait 7 hours in LAX. One of things I thank the most in my life is to be able to be anywhere and shout: "who's over here, lets do something!" and most of the time there is some good friend to the rescue.
This time, my bro and superb chef, Manu Banuelos invited me to give it a try to the new place where he is serving his always awesome gourmet tacos. I highly recommend it, Balam, on Longbeach road!

Week 4: In the alley
Not really sure if I like this picture or not. Probably the composition Anyways, I think the part I like is that it depicts this are of the city perfectly, a constant combination of old and new.

Week 5: The tea pot entrance
This one is a very interesting entrance to a Park next to the office. While I understand that these tea pots are a very Arabic tradition, I feel like sometimes they are a bit over used, like in this place. Definetely random

Week 6: The day I supported North Korea
It is well known that here in the Middle East there are a number of companies that employ North Korean workers mostly for construction and labor jobs but I was not aware that they also send ladies to take care of places like this restaurant in Al Ain. To be honest, we were not aware it was a North Korean restaurant until after we ordered the food and started talking with the ladies. Statements like "there is only one Korea", a crazy Juche karaoke video, and the fact that we could not take pictures without the boss checking them confirmed our suspicion. Anyways, the food was good and the chat was somewhat fun, but the ladies while very attentive have this weird mood or aura. Definitely an experience, I would try to get a better picture later.
Week 7 - The mighty WTC

Week 8 - Super Storm

Week - 9 The boss

Week 10 - All the way from Al Ain
Another day spent in Al Ain for work. The way back to Abu Dhabi is quite calm even after working hours and right now the weather is perfect. Quite a good feeling I guess

Week 11 - The top 125

Week 12 - Lonely lunch
A common image around this area, a lonely guy trying to rest for a bit or get some food. Calmness in the middle of the concrete jungle.

Week 13 - Business Meetings
Another very common scene around this area, discussions on the street over some coffee and a cigarrete.

Week 14 - What? an obelisk?
Yes, in Dubai, where else? Part of the egyptian inspired Wafi Mall and hotel. I have to say that the whole architecture over there is quite impressive. Oh Dubai .. never stops surprising me.
